New Paths
Trying something new, exceeding the limits: This is especially true for Mannheim. Architecture is an essential part of the history, culture and lifeworld of the City of Squares. Mannheim is not only continuously extending and improving its living space by committed building projects but sets standards for a demanding life of a modern urban community. From the Science-Park EASTSITE via projects such as the neighbourhood development in the Jungbusch district – among other things the location of the new Pop Academy – through to the multipurpose hall “SAP-Arena Mannheim“ which was inaugurated in 2005 – Mannheim has always dealt intensively with the innovative and sustainable development of its cityscape.
With “Mannheim 21“ the city actively conducts promotion of economic development. In the next few years, a new urban district will emerge in the planned area of approximately 28 ha which is characterised by attractive office space, living space of high quality and green spaces for safeguarding the quality of life. Mannheim 21 will have a lasting effect on the City of Squares and further expand the potential of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. We are looking forward to a partnership-based cooperation for the benefit of the region, the city and its citizens.
