In dieser Konzertreihe trifft Mannheim auf Talente der jungen Jazzszene. Gemeinsam mit Musikern der Mannheimer Szene bildet der Gast eine einzigartige Band und erarbeitet ein völlig neues Programm.
So werden die verschiedenen Szenen miteinander verbunden - Einflüsse und Vorstellungen der Musik ausgetauscht. Eine spannende Erfahrung, welche man nicht verpassen darf.
Zum nächsten Mannheim Meets lädt die Band Katharina Pfeiffer ein.
Katharina Pfeifer ist gebürtige Oldenburgerin und studiert an der Hochschule für Musik und
Theater München Jazz-Komposition bei Gregor Hübner und Christian Elsässer.
Dieses Jahr wurde sie mit dem 1. Preis mit der Band „Fragments Speak“ des NUECOMER Jazz
Preises ausgezeichnet und ist eine der drei Preisträger*innen des renommierten Kurt Maas Jazz
Awards.
Mit ihrer Musik vermag es Pfeifer an musikalische Grenzen zu gehen und sie ab und zu sogar zu
überschreiten. Sie schafft eine musikalische Atmosphäre, die zum Nachdenken anregt - Musik,
die Raum für Entdeckung lässt. Ihr Trio „Cnidaria“ wird kommendes Jahr sein Debut-Album
veröffentlichen.

Katharina Pfeifer was born in Oldenburg and studies jazz composition at the University of Music and
Theater Munich with Gregor Hübner and Christian Elsässer.
This year, she was awarded first prize with the band “Fragments Speak” at the NUECOMER Jazz
Award and is one of the three winners of the renowned Kurt Maas Jazz
Award.
With her music, Pfeifer is able to push musical boundaries and even cross them from time to time.
She creates a musical atmosphere that inspires reflection—music that leaves room for discovery.
Her trio “Cnidaria” will release its debut album next year.
