Mannheim has always been a very vibrant and creative city. This is evident almost every day on the numerous stages of the city. The best known is, of course, the “Schillerbühne”, the National Theatre. It is enjoying national-wide recognition with its mixture of modern and classical works. In addition, there is a very lively scene of small-scale performing arts. Cabaret artists, comedians and independent theatre groups offer a very varied programme for every taste. And the same is true for music.
Mannheim is an emotional city which offers many various facets and nice locations. This is exactly what film makers have perceived for some years now. Due to ideal shooting conditions and the open-mindedness of the citizens, the city is enjoying more and more popularity as a film set.
However, Mannheim is more than only a film set. It is also the home of the fourth oldest film festival worldwide, the “International Film Festival Mannheim-Heidelberg“.
“Closeness“ is more than a geographical advantage in Mannheim. The employees of the municipal authorities will be personally available for you – whether you are a citizen, an entrepreneur or a visitor and whether for factual issues, general matters or an open dialogue.
We can often spare you the visit to the authority because we are close to your needs. Many of the services are easily available to you at the click of a mouse. Come simply closer to us – online or in our offices. We will be pleased to help you.
Mannheim is a multicultural city where almost every third resident has a migration background. Therefore, intercultural competences are becoming more and more important for the service provider “city administration”.
In search of committed and motivated employees, the City of Mannheim also wants to get young people from migrant families interested in the diverse and varied fields of work at the city administration.
