CoLAB - Committed to Local Climate Action Building

The European Union is funding the CoLAB (Committed to Local Climate Action Building) project with 1.5 million euros. The three major cities of Mannheim, Aachen and Muenster are among the "100 climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030" (NetZeroCities) selected by the EU Mission.

All three cities are united by the idea and ambition to implement the climate neutrality target as a sustainable, cooperative and socially just city, because as transformation cities they are also committed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The consortium is testing the influence of social behaviors and norms in these consumer-oriented areas of life, and how people make decisions, participate in processes and develop solutions to improve individual and collective well-being. The aim is to close the gaps between changed knowledge and real action in everyday life.

At the heart of the project is a platform that connects all interest groups in urban society - from city administration and politics to businesses and citizens - and inspires and mobilizes them to act sustainably.
