Infrastructure and economic structure

The Office of Economic Development holds up-to-date information available on the structure and the development of the economy, on the labour market and other locational factors. There is also industry-specific information.

One-Stop-Service-Centre

The Office of Economic Development is the central information centre for the economy. Being competent partners we regard the promotion of the economy as a marketing task and offer tailor-made consultation on all questions related to the location. In cooperation with other municipal offices the Office of Economic Development advises the enterprises individually on matters such as: building law, urban planning, pollution control, supply, waste disposal, transport and the labour market.

Enterprises are given up-to-date information and individual advice on public funding from the European Union, the German government and the state of Baden-Württemberg.

Promotion of innovative startups

Within the framework of the MAFINEX-programme new innovative enterprises are advised on technical, financial and management matters. If required reasonably-priced workspace in Mannheim's centre of technology as well as services such as secretaries, telephone and postal service can be provided.

Property consultancy

Enterprises which are supported within this programme and want to rent or buy business premises can choose among a number of offices, storehouses and production facilities to favourable conditions.

Sale of municipal business sites

Selling attractive reasonably-priced commercial property, the Office of Economic Development offers tailor-made solutions for industry, commerce and the service sector. In order to ease financing, the property is sold with an hereditary building right/leasing basis.
