 The Rosengarten

The Rosengarten

One of Mannheim's most famous and impressive buildings is the Rosengarten culture and conference centre. The name Rosengarten hints at the original use of this area, but whoever now expects to find themselves somewhere far off from Mannheim's city centre, is wrong: the culture and conference centre is part of a unique art nouveau complex, the Friedrichsplatz, and lies directly across from Mannheim's most famous landmark, the Water-Tower.

The Rosengarten building, designed according to plans by the Berlin architect Bruno Schmitz, still has its splendid original art nouveau façade in its original state. The Nibelungensaal, which was destroyed in World War II., was replaced by the Mozartsaal in the seventies, when the Rosengarten received a modern extension. Being one of the largest culture and conference centres in Germany, the Rosengarten can hold up to 9,000 people. Hardly a day goes by without one or even a number of events: congresses, conferences, shareholders' meetings, seminars, training courses, concerts, balls, dancing competitions and many others.

Since the founding of the Mannheim Conference and Tourism PLC (MKT) in 1991, the management of the Rosengarten has achieved excellent capacity rates. What is the recipe for this success? The inspired range and variety of size and variety of the 16 halls and rooms in the Rosengarten, which is nationally marketed under the name Congress Centre Mannheim (CCM), is an important factor. The Mozartsaal (the largest hall with 2,300 seats), the Musensaal and the Stamitzsaal can, together with a number of other smaller rooms, fulfil every organiser's wish. The technical equipment will also satisfy the highest demands. International stars enjoy giving public performances in the Rosengarten. The pianist Justus Frantz called the Mozartsaal "one of the nicest concert-halls in Germany". The facilities available include two external halls, the Bürgersaal in the Stadthaus N1 and the Kahnweilersaal in the Art Gallery. The 70 permanent employees of MKT take care that every event goes off smoothly. An experienced team can help crate an exclusively tailored overall programme suited to the wishes of each customer. This is the Mannheim style of creative event management. "Accommodation and conference facilities all under one roof" - this possibility has been open to Mannheim's conference visitors since 1996. In the Dorint Conference Hotel, which is directly connected to the Congress Centre Mannheim, 287 first-class rooms are available to conference-goers. Besides this, the hotel's own conference floor adds to the range of rooms at the disposal of the CCM and includes 18 rooms and halls equipped with the most modern technology (10 - 2,300 people).
